I hope my message finds you in good health. This may seem out of the blue, and perhaps I am simply being paranoid, but I was wondering if when you awoke on the train- did you find a gemstone of some kind on your person?
I feel I must press that this is important, and perhaps time sensitive, so if you could get back to me at your earliest convenience it would be greatly appreciated.
[The question both surprises and confuses Armin. He did find a gemstone, and he doesn't feel any particular need to keep that a secret. He's more concerned by Dimitri's apparent concern.]
Hello, Dimitri.
Yes, I did find an unfamiliar gemstone on my person when I awoke near the train. What seems to be the trouble?
This may only make sense if you have seen them, but some people have found there to be a few locations within the village we are unable to access. This is due to some sort of invisible barrier blocking the way- some sort of magic. I was lucky to be with Nao when investigating one; I believe she may have saved my life. For you see, upon getting close to the barrier I felt my gemstone getting quite warm, unnaturally so. I thought it was reacting to the barrier, and that perhaps it could be some sort of key-- do not make this mistake. I touched the stone to the barrier for maybe a millisecond before Nao slammed into me, breaking the connection.
I don't know what it did. It seems as if it stole some color from the gem itself; the barrier shown blue, visible for the first time. While I... I don't know. I feel sick. Sluggish. Like it sapped some vitality from me. I do not want to learn what would have happened if the contact hadn't broken.
Touching the barrier with bare hands did nothing, so I do not know what it was about the stone that caused this to occur.
[Extremely vital information. Armin is grateful for Dimitri.]
Dimitri. I can't thank you enough for telling me. This is information that we should all have at our disposal as soon as possible. I'd strongly recommend making it public through our devices as you did before. I'll add it to my report as well.
Did Nao have any further knowledge to lend regarding the situation?
[Ah! But--]
I'm very glad to hear that you're alright. One of the demons I've contracted with possesses healing abilities. If you need assistance, please let me know. Aside from that, I must insist you rest for the night.
You are most welcome, Armin. It is my intention to make a general broadcast once I have figured out how to word the warning. However, I wanted to warn those I trust most immediately.
[ Also, if Dimitri dies from this he knows Armin has already expressed wanting to help the group. He needs to cover that base just in case. ]
Nao was operating under the same assumption I was- that perhaps the stone was some sort of key. I hadn't known this at the time as Nao shared this information with me afterwards, but apparently there is a large number of demonic beasts beyond the barrier. Knowing that now I'm grateful my endeavor was a failure. Although it makes me wonder who put up the barrier to begin with. Very curious.
[ Dimitri is surprised and touched by the concern. It wasn't expected in the least. ]
I appreciate your concern, and your offer is a generous one. I am currently traveling with someone who has the Hare of Ibana, if that doesn't work I may reach out to you if I am not feeling better from that and rest.
I admit I am hesitant to spend the evening resting. With the noticeably lower demonic activity today it would be a waste to not make the most of it, as we do not know if they will remain as inactive going forward...
I think we're all wondering who's responsible for the way this place operates. Some who have experience with these types of demons have pointed out that we seem to only be encountering a weaker variety right now. Some have suggested that our captors need us to participate in the early stages of their game in order to progress it.
I can only wonder if the demons withheld by that barrier lend to this theory.
All that being said, Dimitri, and with all due respect, you won't be useful to anyone if you end up dead due to neglecting your injuries. [He might be gentler with his words, were he talking to someone else, but Dimitri knows war; he should understand.]
With that, please rest. The evening won't be wasted. It seems we're all working together right now to find out as much as we can. We'll need people like you fighting ready when things get more serious.
The thought that we are mere players in a game for some form of twisted entertainment sickens me. So many have died here... Our captors made a lethal mistake in not killing me when they had the chance.
[ Because, oh, Dimitri will make them pay, especially if this is all a game to them. He will rip their spines out and beat them with it.
The next words he received surprises him into a small smile. From someone else this could have set him off, but from another soldier... ]
You know, I think this is the first time someone has used those words with me and actually had respect. I appreciate your frankness Armin. Once I reach the church I will rest for the remainder of the evening. You have my word.
I mean them with nothing but respect. I'm glad to hear it.
[There's some concern to make note of at Dimitri's apparent ire, however; not that Armin isn't angry himself, but he recognizes that thirst for revenge. Such things can have catastrophic results in the wrong hands. That being said, he isn't in any position to push his new ally too far. He'll keep the concern to himself for now.]
We'll all get our heads on straight tomorrow and decide how to proceed.
[ Dimitri didn’t lie to Armin when he said he would rest once he got to the church. He is, however, on his way to the Concert Hall with the Princess on a scouting mission to see what they can glean with the lullaby having gone silent. Afterwards he’ll return to the church. ]

Proceed with caution in all things you do here.
